Flying FPV drones in tight indoor spaces can be a challenge, but with the right skills and practice even the most difficult obstacles can be overcome. Flying indoors means that there are many obstacles such as low hanging pipes, beams, shelves of boxes and various other things to crash into. The warehouse we flew in was fairly large but also packed with all kinds of nooks and crannies which is why it’s important when flying FPV drones to keep an eye on your camera monitor at all times. With so many dark corners, it’s easy for a drone to vanish from view. Fortunately these flying robots have numerous built-in safety precautions which enable them to stop very quickly if something goes wrong or they sense imminent danger ahead. In addition, because we flew in an industrial setting with metal roofing and lots of electrical equipment (which might involve interference), each drone pilot was equipped with a secondary transmitter just in case the primary one malfunctioned for any reason – which did actually happen once or twice during our session.
